Prayer List

It has been awhile since my last prayer request post - here is an update:

Peterson family: Mrs. Peterson has been diagnosed with advanced osteoporosis and currently faces a really difficult decision regarding which medication to choose. Possible side effects all sound unbearable and possibly fatal. Please pray for guidance for her and then strength to face whatever comes.

Jones family: Recently Mrs. Jones was removed from the liver transplant list because a malignant tumor was found in one of her shoulders. Her case was recommended to M.D. Anderson in Houston, who took her case, and discovered that the cancer has actually spread throughout a significant portion of her body. Her doctor, a Greek woman who has been a practicing doctor since the age of 16 years old, specializes in the type of cancer Mrs. Jones has and refuses to give any negative information. She is determined to help beat this cancer and heal Mrs. Jones. Please pray to that end, but ultimately that God's will be done and that the family has the strength to accept any outcome. Also want to add a special request for Mr. Jones who, up until recently, has refused any possibility of losing Mrs. Jones. He finally asked the question regarding how much time she has left, but as I stated above, the doctor refuses to even think that way, so no answer was given. His struggle, however, has become more difficult and so I just ask that he, and the kiddos, be lifted up, too.

My sweet Poppa is going blind. It is a plain and simple fact that we can no longer deny and it is very hard to accept. What makes it harder was the recent discovery that his previous eye doctor had him on three different eye drop meds that were all working to treat the same thing, but ultimately together were hurting his eyes. Why it took so long for his other doctor to notice, we will never know. I ask for prayer for him - specifically that God will comfort him as he loses the rest of his sight. It is hard enough for him to recognize his age and the new limitations to his strength and endurance - for him to lose sight of God's creation will be a bitter pill to swallow. I also ask for prayer for our family as we work to help him in this time.
